1AYN is built on trust. We are asking you to have vulnerable, meaningful conversations with strangers. That trust starts with how we handle your data.

We believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a feature to monetize. Our business model is not based on selling your data or showing you ads.

What We Collect

Account Information

• • Country: For matching you with people from different countries
• • Password: Encrypted and hashed, never stored in plain text

Usage Data

• • Number of conversations: To show your stats
• • Connection timestamps: When you connected (not what you said)

What We DO NOT Collect

• • ❌ Your real name (unless you use it as display name)
• • ❌ Your location beyond country level
• • ❌ Your contacts, photos, or other personal data

Video Conversations

Your conversations are peer-to-peer. This means the video and audio stream directly between you and your conversation partner, not through our servers.

We use WebRTC technology, which establishes a direct connection between browsers. Our servers only help you find each other (signaling) — we never see or store the actual conversation.

Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices including:

Third Parties

We use the following services to run 1AYN:

• • Vercel: Website hosting
• • Render: Real-time connection server
